About Gonesh Incense

Gonesh incense was founded in Chicago in 1923 as The Hindu Incense Company, in an effort to bring India's sacred tradition of incense to the United States. The name Gonesh was trademarked in 1965 in honor of the elephant god of luck, and the brand flourished throughout the 1960s and 70s.

Gonesh uses the highest quality purified charcoal and carefully blended fragrance oils. As the first incense brand to be widely available outside of import shops, including at grocery stores around the country. The Extra Rich Collection is a single-note line of fragrances introduced in the early 1980s and still popular today.
