Grove and Grotto Spring 2021 Update

Grove and Grotto Spring 2021 update

Greetings, beloved Witches! Whew! This past year has been a whirlwind—certainly our busiest to date. While we missed vending at events during the pandemic, we've been hard at work, fine-tuning our online shop to try and give you the best witchy shopping experience on the web.

Let's begin with some new and notable items, shall we? We're absolutely loving this Cernunnos statue—certainly he's been the star of our Beltane season! Would you look at those antlers?

We recently added some new HEM incense fragrances (the big, 20-stick packs) to our inventory. There's also dozens of different 8-stick packs available, all priced around a buck. The little square boxes are soooooo popular if you're not sure what fragrances to pick (and just want to grab a whole bunch!)

When we stock new products, we're always on the lookout for quality handmade goods from US-based makers. These colorful new Tarot card prints on Birch wood (made in California by one of our artisan partners) certainly fit the bill.

Other News

Next month, Grove and Grotto celebrates seven years in business. A big magickal milestone, to be sure. Running the shop has been so fun and fulfilling, and I can't wait to see where it takes us next.

I'm also proud that we were chosen to receive an eBay Up and Running Grant in February 2021. Fifty promising small business owners (including us!) were gifted with resources including working capital, training, and publicity. It kind of feels like things have come full circle, since we made our first sale on eBay those seven long years ago.

Community Outreach

In the midst of the pandemic, I never stopped thinking about how important our spiritual community is. You are my strength! Whether it's close coven-mates or distant seekers whose lives touch mine, I'm always grateful that I'm not walking this path alone.

With this in mind, I recently accepted a volunteer position with the Council of Magickal Arts, Inc., Texas's oldest and largest Pagan-oriented 501(c)(3) non-profit. As North Texas Area Rep, my job is to spread the word about CMA's festivals, facilitate local events, and be a point of contact for people who are new to the area and/or to witchcraft and Paganism. (If you're local, why not join the CMA North Texas Facebook group? You don’t have to be a CMA member, and we keep the posts focused on magickal goings-on.) As soon as the pandemic lifts just a little more, we'll be out and about in Dallas once again.

One more bit of exciting news: Guest author opportunities are coming soon to GroveandGrotto.com! With millions of eyeballs landing on this website every year, I get lots of solicitations for guest posts. Almost every day, someone is offering to pay me to place guest content alongside my own writing. Most of these proposals get deleted right away.

We respect our readerswe don't want to pitch you CBD or life coaching subscriptions or pyramid schemes involving costume jewelry and essential oils. Nope nope nope! Our guest contributors will be real-deal Witches, friends and seekers, who want to co-create an environment of learning and trust. Check the front page for more info (soon!). We expect to begin placing (free) guest posts in early Fall.

Until next time,

Michelle Gruben
