Vervain (also known as Verbena) has long been associated with magick and enchantment. Sprigs of Vervain adorned both Druid and Roman altars. The famous "Van Van" oil of American folk magick also gets its name from Vervain. Blue Vervain (Verbena hastata) is the North American variety of Vervain.

Vervain is said to enhance astral travel, charisma, and luck. It is a common ingredient in love spells, especially baths and philtres. It is also used in protective, consecratory, divination and dream magick. Not packaged for food use.
