A member of the Daisy family, Coltsfoot grows wild in low-lying places across the countryside. It is an ingredient in many folkloric remedies and charms. The shape of the leaf is said to resemble the hoof of a young horse.
As one as the first flowers to bloom in the springtime, Coltsfoot is used in spells and charms for new love, prosperity, and the rites of Spring. It is also included in divinatory and healing incenses.
